Fall Mountain Career and Technology Education Center Programs

The Fall Mountain Career and Technology Education (CTE) Programs are designed to graduate students who are ready to enter the workforce with a competitive skills set or to continue on to certification programs, post-secondary school study, or the military. All CTE programs offer dual credit (early college) or articulation agreements for college credit with post-secondary institutions. The Fall Mountain CTE programs are designed around a semester platform which allows flexibility for students to complete a CTE program over 2 school years.

For example, students may participate in 2 consecutive semesters (2 courses in the program) then step out to take other requirements. Students are able enroll in the other 2 program courses as they are offered and their schedule allows. At Fall Mountain Regional High School, students are allowed to enroll in CTE programs starting in 9th grade.

Students who complete the course program of studies are recognized as completers and receive recognition at graduation as well as are awarded of Certificate of Competency. Courses are described in the FMRHS Program of Studies.

Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC)
JROTC consists of four Leadership Education and Training (LET) core courses and elective co-curricular teams. Each course framework provides a scope and sequence outline that includes targeted competencies and time allocations deemed appropriate for student learning and assessment. JROTC serves as a character and leadership development program. High school students enrolled in JROTC are “Cadets.”

The JROTC program's focus is reflected in its mission statement "To Motivate Young People to be Better Citizens." It prepares high school students for responsible leadership roles while making them aware of their rights, responsibilities, and privileges as American citizens. The program is a stimulus for promoting graduation from high school, and it provides instruction and rewarding opportunities that will benefit the student, community, and nation.

This program’s design focuses on the development of better citizens by building skills in leadership, personal growth and behaviors, citizenship, decision making, health and fitness, first aid, team building, service learning, and geography; all within a student-centered learning environment. The JROTC program is a cooperative effort between the Army and the host school.

As Cadets complete each LET level, their journey toward program outcomes will occur; each program outcome is linked to every Leadership, Education, and Training (LET) lesson in the curriculum. Evidence of learning can be witnessed through a Cadet’s Portfolio, which will showcase continued development of program outcomes.

LET courses are offered as A sections in the fall and B sections in the spring.
